Production Manager Job Summary

As a highly driven professional with a proven track record of managing teams and processes, you will be responsible for leading the workflow and production team at our Body Repair Centre.

This position requires a strong understanding of business operations, as well as the ability to adapt to and excel in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with centre management to deliver excellent results in customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide inspiring leadership to the production team, ensuring they are informed and motivated to achieve their best.
  • Develop and maintain production plans to optimize workshop throughput and ensure timely vehicle return.
  • Manage daily resource scheduling and task allocation to maximize efficiency.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to team members, identifying strengths and development needs.
  • Conduct regular performance discussions with team members to ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Support the growth and development of the site by conducting technician recruitment and selection activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by centre management.

Requirements

  • Professional experience: 5+ years of management experience within the collision industry or relevant work experience in manufacturing, automotive, or customer service industries.
  • 3-5 years of vendor management experience.
  • Leadership experience: Proven ability to lead teams and manage diverse roles and responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant Certificate from Vocational School in Collision Repair.
  • Strong process and operations experience: Proven ability to lead field, technical repair, or manufacturing teams in fast-paced environments with strong customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Experience running complex processes using Six Sigma or Toyota Lean methodologies.
  • Solution-oriented individual with high problem-solving skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a collision shop environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence team members to achieve business targets.
  • Capable of self-managing and working independently in limited supervision environments.
  • Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in collision repair of vehicles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions.
