Job Summary:

Spearheading Fiscal Strategy is a pivotal executive leadership role that drives the development and implementation of Queensland's economic and fiscal policy frameworks.

This senior strategic leadership position is critical to delivering Queensland Treasury's mission to drive the Government's economic and fiscal priorities, ensuring financial sustainability and informed decision-making.

The Deputy Under Treasurer, Fiscal, Economics and Commercial (DUT) oversees high-value commercial transactions and provides authoritative advice, analysis, and guidance to senior stakeholders on Queensland's economic and fiscal performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Economic and Fiscal Policy Development: Lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions that support economic, fiscal, and policy objectives aligned with government commitments.
  • Risk Management and Sustainability: Oversee the delivery of whole-of-government fiscal and risk management policies, ensuring financial sustainability and long-term viability.
  • Strategic Advice and Representation: Provide strategic advice on major economic development initiatives, commercial and infrastructure projects, and private sector engagements, representing Queensland's economic and financial interests in high-level negotiations and consultations.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will contribute to shaping strategic direction and organisational priorities, driving business growth and innovation.
