We are seeking passionate and qualified Science educators to join our team of dedicated professionals in the ACT Public Schools. As a Science teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to their academic growth.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Science subjects to students in years 7 to 10, and years 11 and 12 in colleges
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve their understanding
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the overall learning experience
- Contribute to the development of curriculum materials and resources
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Science or a related field
- Proven teaching experience, preferably in a secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and outcomes-based learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Nation-leading public school pay and conditions
- Incremental salary progression, starting from $86,253 for new educators and $102,969 to $121,077 for experienced educators
- Four staff development days a year (student-free) at the beginning of each term
- The right to disconnect outside work hours and enjoy a better work/life balance
- Ongoing professional learning and development opportunities
- Education qualifications – A four-year full-time tertiary education qualification
- Teacher registration – A valid approval to teach with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI)
- Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration – A valid ACT WWVP
- Approved working status – Be an Australian citizen and/or be permanent resident and/or hold a valid working visa
