About the Role:

We are seeking passionate and qualified Mathematics educators to join our team in the ACT Public Schools. As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Mathematics education to students in years 7 to 10, and potentially years 11 and 12.

About You:

  • You must have relevant tertiary qualifications and a valid approval to teach with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI).
  • You should have a passion for teaching and education, and support a student-centred approach to learning.
  • You should have Mathematics expertise and the ability to teach across a broad age and ability range.
  • You must demonstrate knowledge and successful application of the Australian Curriculum and outcomes-based learning.
  • You should have positive classroom management skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • You should have proven experience establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • You should be committed to supporting the wellbeing of students.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must have education qualifications – a four-year full-time tertiary education qualification. Applicants with qualifications gained outside of Australia should complete a skills assessment by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) to confirm qualification requirements and English language proficiency to teach in Australian schools.
  • You must have teacher registration – a valid approval to teach with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI). If you do not hold a teacher registration with the ACT TQI, we suggest starting your registration at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
  • You must have Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration – a valid ACT WWVP. If you don't, we suggest starting your registration at the same time.
  • You must have approved working status – be an Australian citizen and/or be permanent resident and/or hold a valid working visa. Business sponsorship is available and assessed on an individual basis.
