About Our Behaviour Support Practitioner Role

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base and contribute to delivering high-quality, person-centred behaviour support services.

Job Description

The Behaviour Support Practitioner will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments to identify functional behaviours and support needs of clients. They will develop and implement tailored behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and the broader care team.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, or a related allied health discipline, and demonstrated or emerging experience in the provision of behaviour support services. A thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles and effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The Behaviour Support Practitioner will provide specialist behaviour support interventions and strategies to address complex behaviours and promote positive outcomes. They will also deliver training and support to clients, families, and support workers to ensure the effective implementation of behaviour support plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, or a related allied health discipline
  • Demonstrated or emerging experience in the provision of behaviour support services
  • Thorough understanding of positive behaviour support principles
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
