The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is a leading organization in the energy sector, and we are currently seeking a highly skilled Test Lead to join our team.

As a Test Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our digital capabilities by planning, executing, and delivering testing across multiple projects.

This position requires technical and management skills to perform the role of a trusted quality assurance advisor and a subject matter expert on testing requirements, test planning, test execution, and results management.

You will be accountable for driving improvements on the tools and testing processes commonly used by the team, ensuring that test automation and process improvements continue to evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and drive testing activities across System Integration, User Acceptance, Industry, and Non-Functional test levels.
  • Assess automation requirements and ensure the delivery of targeted automation test scripts.
  • Accountable for the delivery of all testing activities and artefacts for the allocated workstream/s within the project/program.
  • Ensure project and/or software release test plans align with the requirements of the business with respect to functionality, process, security, and compatibility.
  • Verify test environments are configured to allow completion of functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure project and/or release test plans are executed, and issues are logged and tracked in a defect management system.
  • Make sure project timelines are met while balancing the appropriate levels of test coverage versus risk.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management.
  • Extensive experience in test team leadership, including managing a diverse, geographically dispersed team.
  • Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Experienced in working with multiple methodologies, including traditional, incremental (agile) delivery, and hybrid.
  • Knowledge supporting 24x7 Technology Systems.
  • Ability to lead/mentor and cross-skill with team members.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Information Systems, Technology, or a relevant discipline, and certification in relevant technologies, such as ISTQB advanced or Agile Testing.

AEMO offers an estimated salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a competitive benefits package.
