About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning and Controls Engineer to join our team at Shell Energy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the commissioning of assets installed by our Asset Management and Projects (AMP) team, including HVAC and refrigeration control, gas upgrades, PV systems, and BESS systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and commission HVAC and refrigeration control assets to ensure they meet set KPIs and respond to defects in a timely manner.
  • Conduct monthly reporting on the performance of HVAC and refrigeration control assets.
  • Analyze HVAC systems and equipment to identify inefficiencies or malfunctions and develop solutions to optimize performance and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management team to ensure that commissioning checklists and forms are completed accurately and on time.
  • Communicate project status to the team lead, internal and external customers, and suppliers to ensure they can plan proactively.
  • Compile information and report to the team lead on project performance relative to departmental objectives.
  • Provide technical support during internal and external design review meetings to ensure key design approvals are achieved in line with project schedules.
  • Plan resource requirements with the team lead to develop project milestones.
  • Ensure that all interactions with colleagues, customers, and suppliers are respectful, inclusive, and demonstrate excellence.

  • Experience in control system design and analysis.
  • Experience of undertaking technical calculations.
  • Experience of working within a multi-skilled environment.
  • Experienced in managing projects, including working to tight timescales throughout the project life cycle.
  • Experience in software design of industrial automation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working in an innovative environment and providing innovative solutions.
  • Experience in evaluating technical requirements and providing viable solutions.
  • Commercially aware of the effective use of resources, scope change, and implications of choice.
  • Knowledge of piping and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Experience in piping and mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of PV and BESS systems desirable but not a must.
