
Director of Child Services

This role involves managing a team of Residential Care Practitioners and Youth Workers, coordinating the day-to-day operations of our residential care service for young people living in out of home care.
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science) and experience incorporating the six CARE Principles when supporting Children and Young People.
Key responsibilities include providing mentoring, coaching and supervision to teams in alignment with the CARE model for practice, ensuring our service is working in accordance with the CARE model, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and families by taking a therapeutic centered approach.
Responsibilities Include:- Managing a team of Residential Care Practitioners and Youth Workers.
- Coordinating the day-to-day operations of our residential care service for young people living in out of home care.
- Providing mentoring, coaching and supervision to teams in alignment with the CARE model for practice.
- Ensuring our service is working in accordance with the CARE model.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science).
- Experience incorporating the six CARE Principles when supporting Children and Young People.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team that works with children and youth within a therapeutic care environment who have suffered abuse or neglect and are on statutory child protection or juvenile justice orders.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children).
- QLD Driver's Licence.
- First Aid and CPR Qualifications.
- Willingness to undergo a personal history check under the provision of the Child Protection Act 1999 in relation to Licensing of Care Services (LCS2 screening check).
- Ability to build strong relationships with young people.
