Supervisor Role at a Hospital Kitchen

We are seeking an experienced and efficient supervisor to provide leadership in the hospital kitchen, ensuring high-quality products and service for patients and customers.

The ideal candidate will prioritize tasks, make decisions, and guide the team. Commitment to ongoing education and professional development, along with well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of caregivers to maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness.
  • Support the chef in developing a culture of service excellence and employee engagement.
  • Ensure tasks are completed on time and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Complete performance development reviews of caregivers under supervision.
  • Liaise with the administrative officer to manage caregiver rosters and annual leave calendars.
  • Support the chef with recruitment, induction, and ongoing training.
  • Manage performance issues and escalate as required.
  • Support the management team through change management.
  • Interpret patient meal tray cards and ensure appropriate meals for patients with allergies or therapeutic diet needs.

Requirements include previous supervisory experience in a catering environment, ability to assist in training programs and plan staff rosters and leave. A sound knowledge of hygiene regulations and correct manual handling procedures is also necessary.
