Job Overview
">The Re-entry Adviser plays a pivotal role in facilitating successful offender reintegration into the community. Key responsibilities include establishing effective information sharing and coordination links between correctional centres, service providers, and Community Corrections to ensure optimal service provision.
">Additionally, the position involves monitoring and analysing key population data to inform accurate identification and allocation of individuals to suitable services. Collaboration with QCS staff and external service providers is essential for formulating appropriate risk management strategies and overseeing their implementation.
">A critical component of this role is the provision of data and reports on re-entry trends, risks, and issues to Regional Operational Managers and Specialist Operations (Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services). This expertise enables informed decision-making and drives improvements in offender support.
">Another vital aspect of this position is identifying and referring offenders who could benefit from targeted service provision, thereby reducing barriers to release. Crisis response services in the community are also subject to regular monitoring and oversight.
">Where necessary, the Re-entry Adviser provides guidance to contracted service providers on establishing offender re-entry support plans and case coordination, prioritising prisoner ownership and involvement in reintegration planning.
">Effective working relationships between QCS and service providers are crucial in supporting the release planning process. The Re-entry Adviser contributes to ongoing reviews of the re-entry service delivery model, ensuring efficient and relevant service provision that supports the reintegration function.
">Required Skills and Qualifications
">To excel in this role, candidates must possess a degree in a human services or criminology field such as Law, Justice, Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Business, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.
">A valid driver's licence, minimum C class Australian licence, is also mandatory due to the need for travel and work across various locations.
">Benefits
">This role offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a dynamic environment.
