
Offender Re-entry Specialist

This role involves identifying, evaluating and prescribing strategies to effectively manage risk and need during the transition of offenders between correctional centres and community corrections offices.
The goal is to ensure quality case management of offenders are structured to optimize success on parole within that region, contributing to increased community safety.
Main Responsibilities:- Establish key information sharing and coordination links between correctional centres, service providers and Community Corrections to ensure appropriate service and support is being provided.
- Monitor and analyze key population data to identify and allocate individuals to the right services, internal and external.
- Participate in case conferences with staff and external service providers to formulate risk management strategies and oversee their implementation.
- Provide data and reports on re-entry trends, risks and issues as required.
- Identify and refer offenders who could benefit from service provision that removes barriers to release.
- Monitor crisis response services in the community.
- Collaborate with contracted service providers to establish offender re-entry support plans and case coordination.
A degree in a relevant human services or criminology field is mandatory. A minimum C class Australian driver's licence is also required due to travel requirements.
