Bitumen Tanker Maintenance Technician

This role offers the opportunity to work with specialized equipment essential to road construction operations.

The Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting routine inspections of bitumen tankers
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and performing preventative maintenance on tank systems, including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulic components
  • Maintaining the integrity of heating systems that keep bitumen at optimal temperature during transport and unloading
  • Performing welding and fabrication repairs and calibrating temperature and pressure controls
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with relevant safety, environmental, and transport compliance standards

This role requires working both in workshop settings and occasionally on-site, supporting operational readiness and minimizing downtime.

The Requirements
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge
  • Experience with burner systems and pipework
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Understanding of hazardous materials handling (especially hot bitumen)
  • Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance
