About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Fitter to join our team at Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services to our customers' equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain both new and used equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct basic failure analysis and identify specific modes of failure to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and test pre-delivery inspections of new equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Complete and submit all relevant paperwork and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in line with the company's 5S standards.
Requirements
  • Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent mechanical trade qualification.
  • Heavy diesel mechanics and field service fitters with demonstrated OEM equipment experience, particularly with excavator diagnosis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to ensure total customer satisfaction.
