This role involves working on various fabrication projects, from interpreting blueprints to cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Measuring and marking out metal stock for cutouts and joints.
  • Cutting, bending, and assembling metal components using fabrication tools and machines.
  • Joining metal sections by welding or bolting.
  • Examining welds for accuracy, penetration, and finish, performing necessary repairs or reworks.
  • Cleaning and smoothing welds using filing, chiselling, and grinding techniques.
  • Programming and operating computer-aided fabrication tools to optimize efficiency.
  • Inspecting finished products for accuracy and quality compliance.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment in line with WHS practices.

Required skills and experience include:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Metal Fabricator.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and tools.
  • Proficiency in MIG/TIG/Stick welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality.
