
Healthy Community Development Specialist

This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to evidence-based and innovative programs of work for population health priorities in the Health & Wellbeing stream.
The Health Promotion Officer will primarily work on projects that promote healthy eating, active living, and healthy weight in adults. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering all stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting, and sustainability of such programs.
The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in health or a related field and demonstrated knowledge and experience in health promotion planning, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination. They will also possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and team skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
About the Role- To improve the health of people living in south western Sydney by contributing to Health Promotion programs of work in line with South Western Sydney Local Health District and the Ministry of Health's goals, principles, and strategies.
- Delivering all stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting, and sustainability of programs relating to physical and food environments that support health and programs that promote healthy eating, active living, and healthy weight in adults.
South Western Sydney is rapidly growing with proximity to public transport, beaches, the Blue Mountains, and Royal National Park. The area includes major shopping centers and development projects in Sydney's new airport area, offering a mix of metropolitan and rural community settings.

- Tertiary qualifications in health or a related field and demonstrated knowledge and experience in health promotion planning, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health promotion theory and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain partnerships with other staff and government, non-government, and community organisations.
- Effective organisational, problem-solving, and team skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
