Job Title: Marine Park Authorisation Manager
About the RoleThis key position plays a crucial role in safeguarding marine park environments and species that depend on them.
Working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, you will leverage your understanding of their concerns and your ability to communicate effectively with these groups to deliver successful outcomes.
Parks Australia Division is dedicated to showcasing natural and cultural wonders to the world, highlighting their significance and inspiring communities to care for and protect them.
Australia boasts one of the largest networks of marine parks globally, protecting diverse life forms from coral reefs to deep ocean canyons and undersea mountains.
The Authorisations and Compliance Section performs a regulatory function through assessments and compliance operations, contributing directly to the protection of unique marine park environments and species.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage Assessment and Authorisations team activities, including staff supervision, policy development, project planning and budget management
- Assess environmental impacts for various activities
- Provide business systems support, including online authorisation system
- Coordinate and prepare high-quality briefs and submissions
- Represent Parks Australia with internal and external stakeholders, building partnerships and working relationships
