Medacs Healthcare Middle East is partnering with the Hunter New England Local Health District to recruit a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist/Consultant Psychiatrist for a General Adult Acute Psychiatry Unit in Taree. Job Overview

This role involves providing high-quality patient-focused management and care to admitted and non-admitted patients, families, and carers through regular ward rounds, clinical handover clinics, and on-call consultations.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure success and respond to concerns raised by the team, management, and patients.
  • Educate and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and team members in accordance with relevant training organisation standards.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), awarded under any RCPsych curriculum from August 2007 to date following satisfactory completion of a General Medical Council or Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board approved specialty training program in psychiatry in the United Kingdom.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills and experience working with mental health problems in Adult Mental Health.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
