Port Augusta Operations Specialist

- Shift work is applicable at our Port Augusta Depot, with opportunities for coverage at Whyalla terminal also available.
About the Role
As a Terminal Operator, your responsibilities will include performing safe shunting duties, marshalling locomotives and rail wagons in preparation for departure, and providing critical communications to incoming and outgoing rail services.
This role requires an average of 38 hours per week, based on a forward rotating roster that covers 24/7 operations. The position is based at our Port Augusta Depot but may require shift coverage at both Port Augusta and Whyalla terminals over the roster cycle.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Performing safe shunting duties and marshalling locomotives and rail wagons in preparation for departure.
- Providing safety-critical communications to incoming and outgoing Pacific National rail services.
- Working effectively within a team environment to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Full driver's licence.
- General computer proficiency.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to work flexible shifts.
- Previous experience in heavy industry, logistics or transport would be advantageous.
