Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished academic to contribute to the teaching, research and service activities of the School. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for advancing Geography and a collaborative approach to research and scholarship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and delivering foundation and profession-focused units.
  • Engaging in quality research and scholarly activity.
  • Supporting students across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels.

The successful candidate will be able to build strong connections with students, colleagues, industry and community partners, and contribute to strengthening the University's profile in Geography.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate qualification or equivalent in Geography, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to complete a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching / Education.
  • Experience teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students using multi-modal delivery strategies.
  • Proven research record with recent publications and ability to contribute to the School's research program.

For Senior Lecturer position, additional requirements include possession of a PhD in Geography, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline, experience in team leadership and mentoring junior academic staff, and ability to develop engaging teaching materials and effectively collaborate with industry and community partners.
