Job Overview

A dynamic and rewarding role as a Rehabilitation Assistant involves delivering prescribed treatment plans to individuals living in the community under the supervision of a therapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various treatments as prescribed, including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and application of modalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver prescribed treatment plans in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform a range of therapeutic interventions to support clients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
  • Develop and deliver home exercise programs that are tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervising therapists regarding client progress and any concerns or changes in treatment interventions.
Requirements
  • Candidates must possess a graduate degree from a recognized Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant program.
  • Prior experience working in a community setting is an asset, but applicants with general experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of an inter-professional team.
  • A strong focus on safety and ethical standards is essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
