Structural Project Engineer Job Opportunity

About the company:

A family-owned business with 45 years of experience is looking for an experienced senior structural project engineer to lead the structural package for a new government building in the Solomon Islands.

What your day looks like:

  • Review and prepare detailed mark-ups of structural designs, coordinating adjustments to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Oversee materials and structures for load capacity, durability, and environmental resilience.
  • Manage quality assurance for all structural works, conducting inspections to maintain high standards and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve design and construction challenges.
  • Monitor project timelines, resource use, and budget allocations to meet project milestones efficiently.

About you:

  • 7+ years of structural engineering experience in the construction industry, ideally with experience working for a civil subcontractor.
  • Expertise in structural design, analysis, and project execution on large-scale projects.
  • Ideally have PMP certification, plus eligibility to register on state structural engineering registers.
  • Strong understanding of Australian standards and local regulations – must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in the Australian construction industry.
  • Willingness to travel overseas for site visits during the construction stage.
