Ambulatory Healthcare Assistant Role Summary
This position provides critical support to physicians and other clinicians in delivering exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting clinical duties, including taking medical histories and assisting with physical examinations.
- Serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining accurate records of patients' vital signs.
- Preparing and administering vaccinations and medications as directed.
- Accurately documenting patient information in the electronic health record.
- Ensuring seamless specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant training or a minimum of two years of relevant experience within the past five years preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard operation and computer software applications.
- Familiarity with medical equipment and supplies essential.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) current and valid.
- Capacity to travel to multiple locations as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Effective collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Sound judgment and timeliness in completing tasks and rotations.
- Physical stamina to handle patient lifting and transfer requirements, with the ability to stoop, bend, and stand as necessary.
Patient safety is paramount; employees are expected to exercise caution and use safe techniques when lifting or moving patients, utilizing patient-handling equipment when feasible. Patient-specific considerations may dictate alternative approaches, which will be evaluated on an individual basis.
