Ambulatory Healthcare Assistant Role Summary

This position provides critical support to physicians and other clinicians in delivering exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting clinical duties, including taking medical histories and assisting with physical examinations.
  • Serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patients' vital signs.
  • Preparing and administering vaccinations and medications as directed.
  • Accurately documenting patient information in the electronic health record.
  • Ensuring seamless specimen collection and processing for laboratory testing.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant training or a minimum of two years of relevant experience within the past five years preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in keyboard operation and computer software applications.
  • Familiarity with medical equipment and supplies essential.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) current and valid.
  • Capacity to travel to multiple locations as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Sound judgment and timeliness in completing tasks and rotations.
  • Physical stamina to handle patient lifting and transfer requirements, with the ability to stoop, bend, and stand as necessary.

Patient safety is paramount; employees are expected to exercise caution and use safe techniques when lifting or moving patients, utilizing patient-handling equipment when feasible. Patient-specific considerations may dictate alternative approaches, which will be evaluated on an individual basis.
