Culinary Expert Wanted

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team at Southern Highlands Private Hospital.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation and Handling: Ensure the safe storage, preparation, and handling of food in our kitchen environment.
  • Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook high-quality meals for patients with varying dietary requirements.
  • Patient Dietary Requirements: Understand and cater to diverse patient needs, including allergies and sensitivities.
  • Maintain a Clean Environment: Ensure all kitchen areas are clean, well-organized, and meet health and safety standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly wash, clean, and maintain equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Log Sheets: Accurately complete daily food and safety log sheets as required.
  • Compliance & HACCP: Adhere to food safety guidelines and best practices outlined in our HACCP plan.
  • Inventory Management: Order and manage food and supply inventory efficiently.
  • Stock Rotation: Implement effective stock rotation procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Requirements:
  • Certificate in Commercial Cooking: Possess a valid certificate in commercial cooking or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months' experience as a Chef or in a related culinary role.
  • Dietary Adaptability: Demonstrate ability to cater to a wide range of sensitive dietary requirements.
  • Allergy Management: Have a thorough understanding of allergy management practices and protocols.
  • Work Ethic & Teamwork: Display excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Cultural Competence: Be able to work comfortably in a multicultural and diverse workplace.
