Cloud Architect Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure, leading IT initiatives, and optimizing cloud configurations for cost-effectiveness and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-native systems.
  • Oversee the design of whole network architecture.
  • Conduct architecture assessments across projects and programs.
  • Oversee and govern data centre, server, and communication management.

IT Leadership & Governance:

  • Advise stakeholders on selecting and integrating technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with the CIO to maintain sustainable, secure IT architecture.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security, legal, privacy, and regulatory standards.

Optimisation & Risk Management:

  • Monitor and optimise cloud configurations to balance cost and performance.
  • Advocate for emerging technologies that deliver value.
  • Architect cost-effective solutions while managing risks effectively.

Operational Support:

  • Provide expertise in resolving issues within the cloud environment.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 8+ years in Microsoft Azure architecture and management (AWS/GCS experience is a plus).
  • Deep skills in Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, Networking, Security) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., ARM, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Skills in Virtual Network Design, and strong understanding of physical networking.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud and network design principles.
  • Background: Ideally from manufacturing or utilities, with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Technology.
  • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent is a plus.
