Portfolio Manager

We are seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager to join our team at Mercer.

  • Provide analytical support for investment implementation activities, focusing on improving efficiency and reducing operational risk.
  • Assist the Head of Investment in executing portfolio management decisions, including asset allocation and investment manager changes.
  • Coordinate daily portfolio exposure management activities, including asset allocation rebalancing, liquidity forecasting, and monitoring of derivative overlays.
  • Collaborate with investment operations to maintain an accurate implementation pipeline and ensure best-practice execution of investment decisions.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of a new Target Operating Model (TOM) for the Pacific Solutions business, contributing to data infrastructure and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute investment strategies to achieve optimal returns.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to inform investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Contribute to the development of a high-performing team culture.

Requirements:

  • A degree in finance, economics, or a related field is required; a postgraduate qualification is desirable but not necessary.
  • 5-7 years of experience in investment industry, with a strong emphasis on derivatives and overlay strategies.
  • Experience in portfolio construction for multi-manager portfolios, including derivatives for risk management and performance enhancement.
  • Strong knowledge of investment markets and asset classes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
