Overview

This public sector agency is seeking an experienced Category Manager to oversee diverse projects and initiatives with stakeholders from Victorian government departments, industry groups, and suppliers.

The successful candidate will develop, implement, and manage whole-of-Victorian-government procurement strategies, initiatives, and relationships impacting overall spend of non-ICT goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end category management activities across various good and service categories for optimum procurement outcomes.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that meet business needs.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, departmental colleagues, Chief Procurement Officers, and other key staff from government departments, suppliers, and industry bodies.

Requirements:

  • A recognised procurement professional with expert knowledge in undertaking sourcing events for strategic engagements.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
