Urbis is a leading consultancy that empowers its employees to make a tangible difference in shaping cities and communities. We are seeking two Archaeology Consultants to join our Sydney team as part of our National Heritage Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to practical, technical, and strategic advice on archaeology and heritage subjects.
  • Undertake consultation and fieldwork in accordance with relevant guidelines and protocols.
  • Demonstrate high-level research, interpretation, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Work across a wide range of applications and contribute to proposals, tenders, and submissions.
  • Assist in undertaking projects, client relationships, and work to specification and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management, or a similar subject.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to apply statutory heritage legislation, principles, and the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 and the NSW Heritage Act 1977.
  • Demonstrate an understanding in preparing relevant assessments under the NPW Act and the Heritage Act.
  • Ability to undertake archaeology research using multiple sources and methodologies.
  • Ability to undertake fieldwork in every part of NSW.
  • Relevant experience in the archaeology industry is preferable.
