About the Role

In this challenging yet rewarding role as a Residential Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children in our care. Working with Life Without Barriers, you will provide support and care to children placed into our Out of Home Care Program.

As a dedicated professional, you will work in a family group home setting in Kalgoorlie, supporting children alongside a team of staff who are committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for our young clients.

You will need to have experience or an understanding of working with children who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenging behaviours. You will be supported by a larger care team and receive ongoing training to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality direct support to children in our care, tailored to their individual needs and support plans.
  • Contribute to day-to-day care in a home setting, including support with daily routines, meal preparation, and activities.
  • Establish strong relationships with children and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver programs to support children in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and record-keeping.
Requirements:
  • Certificate in Community or Children's Services (advantageous but not essential).
  • Ability to build rapport with children through shared interests and activities.
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain during background checks).
  • A current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
  • Commitment to supporting the unique needs and goals of our clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Capacity to work effectively with diverse cultural groups.
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for ongoing professional development, permanent contract options, and a supportive work environment.

The successful candidate will be required to clear probity checks, including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check, and Child Protection Clearance.
