This position is situated within the School of Marketing. The Postdoctoral Fellow will engage in both collaborative and independent research focused on quantitative marketing. The primary objective is to derive innovative and robust insights regarding the efficacy of marketing strategies, utilizing advanced econometric models calibrated on real-world empirical data.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will report directly to Professor Harald van Heerde.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced econometric models to extract novel and actionable marketing insights.
  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders to gather and organize empirical data for model calibration.
  • Conduct field experiments in partnership with industry collaborators.
  • Process, clean, and analyze research data, interpreting the results effectively.
  • Publish findings in prestigious marketing and related academic journals.
  • Present research outcomes at both national and international conferences.
  • Assist in supervising PhD candidates.
  • Minimal teaching responsibilities, primarily guest lectures.

Selection Criteria:

  • PhD in Marketing, Business, Econometrics, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong foundation in empirical econometric models.
  • Demonstrated interest in addressing real-world marketing challenges.
  • Strong quantitative skills and training.
  • Proficient programming and data management abilities, particularly in R, Python, Matlab, or Gauss.
  • Proven or demonstrated potential for an exceptional publication record.
