
Spacecraft Structure Engineer

- Create detailed designs for vehicle structures based on flight loads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop structural concepts that balance mass, cost, and capability.
- Develop CAD models in NX for components, assemblies, and vehicle integration.
- Build finite element models to assess design performance and analyze structural integrity.
- Apply first-order hand calculations and empirical formulas to rapidly assess and iterate on designs.
- Validate designs through testing and analysis of individual joints and design elements.
- Perform structural testing on subassemblies and full sections of the airframe.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers to improve design efficiency.
- Support the assembly of hardware in the factory and witness designs being brought to life daily.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- 1+ years of experience designing, analyzing, or building structures (internship and school projects qualify).
- Passion for creating, tinkering, and building.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to drive significant outcomes.
- Proven application of passion and curiosity to learn and complete impactful projects.
- Experience transitioning products from design to manufacturing.
- Proven experience designing metallic structures.
- Ability to make informed executive decisions.
- Experience leading or participating in engineering competitions.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
