About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at VMCH. As a Chef Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food services to our residents, while maintaining a safe and healthy kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents
  • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and regulations, as well as occupational health and safety standards
  • Supervise and coordinate food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and supplies
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless food service operations
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher
  • Food Safety Supervisor Training (Health & Community) - HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, and HLTFSE007
  • Experience working in a food services environment and in the supervision of staff
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers
  • Commitment to work as part of a team and without supervision
  • Ability to be self-motivated and to promote a positive lifestyle environment
  • Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality
