This is a research position in process control. The successful candidate will undertake scientific research on an ARC Discovery Project titled "A Probabilistic Approach to Big Data-Based Industrial Process Control".
Responsibilities- Conduct scientific research on probabilistic and data-based industrial process control.
- Undertake research on control theory and machine learning techniques.
- Collaborate with the Process Control Group within the School of Chemical Engineering.
- PhD in Engineering or Mathematics.
- Demonstrated skills and experience with process control and modern control theories, including nonlinear control and stochastic systems theory.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Salary: $91,381 - $121,838 per annum + 17% superannuation.
- Full Time.
- Fixed-term contract – 24 months.
- Location: Sydney, Australia.
