Senior Clinician, Youth Mental Health Initiative

Your exceptional skills and experience will enable you to provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, intensive therapeutic interventions and integrated psychosocial responses to young people experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns.

The successful candidate will possess relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Psychologists, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Workers.

The ideal candidate will have extensive postgraduate clinical experience and knowledge in providing evidence-based mental health assessment and treatment for young people and their carers. They will also demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles of trauma-informed care and its application.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, intensive therapeutic interventions and integrated psychosocial responses to young people experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise staff to ensure the delivery of strengths-based and recovery-oriented mental health care and treatment.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to develop streamlined referral pathways and ensure timely transition of care between services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA or AASW.
  • Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in mental health assessment and treatment for young people and their carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care principles and their application.
  • Ability to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgment to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues.
