Job Title: Emergency Response Specialist

As an Emergency Response Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing emergency calls and providing critical support to the community. Working in a dynamic environment, you will be committed to delivering exceptional client-focused services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to community requests for assistance and manage emergency calls using high-level negotiation and conflict management skills to de-escalate situations and gather vital information.
  • Apply the Queensland Police Service demand management framework to request police resource allocation and accurately relay data using voice communications equipment in a time-critical environment.
  • Research police data management systems to gather relevant information and review incidents with flexibility, speed, and accuracy to update incidents with time-critical information.
  • Liaise with other service providers to allocate resources as required and comply with information security policies to keep information confidential and accurate.
Requirements:Mandatory
  • Participate in a Communications Operator Training Program of approximately 6 months.
  • Work a 24-hour, 7-day roster with 36.25 hours per week.
  • Undergo alcohol and/or drug testing.
  • Hold a recent keyboard skills certificate indicating 40 words per minute with 98% accuracy.
  • Pass typing, call taker simulation, and cognitive ability assessments.
  • Complete a psychological assessment and approved PEMS hearing test.
