HSE Risk Management Specialist

This high-profile position is centered around building partnerships, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned business areas and implementing company policies, programs, and initiatives to enhance H&S risk management and foster visible safety leadership.
The role involves key responsibilities including:
- Fostering a workplace culture characterized by proactive behaviors such as accountability, ownership, awareness, and leadership, thereby promoting a risk-based systems approach.
- Accountability for coordinating, organizing, and implementing various HSE projects, programs, and initiatives within designated business areas.
- Providing expert advice, coaching, support, and guidance to management and staff on all HSE policies, processes, and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Supporting the interpretation and adoption of HSE legislation and assisting the business with safety regulatory requirements and interfaces.
- Cultivating leaders who advocate for a positive and resilient safety culture.
About You
You will be an ideal candidate if you possess exceptional capability in tactfully navigating challenging scenarios, display a collaborative team spirit, and excel in communication, coordination, and task delegation. Your dedication to proactive troubleshooting, maintaining excellent professional standards, and proficiency in electrical industry or civil works background will be highly valued.
With your experience in large, high-risk industrial organizations preferably in utilities, services, infrastructure, or related sectors, you will bring valuable skills in implementing risk-based HSE systems and assurance programs, coaching leaders, empowering teams, engaging stakeholders, and influencing key decision-makers.
Your qualifications should include:
- Demonstrated experience in managing high-risk environments.
- Proficiency in implementing risk-based HSE systems and assurance programs.
- Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders to embed a mature safety culture.
- Tertiary or Diploma-level qualifications in Training, Health & Safety, or related fields.
- Expert knowledge of Australian HSE legislative frameworks, including incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- ICAM (Incident Cause Analysis Method) training or qualifications.
- Exceptional risk management skills, including AS4801 familiarity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for clear, concise, and accurate HSE reporting.
- Proven leadership in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
