Vital Role in Therapy Practice

As a skilled Speech Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in our mobile therapy practice, working closely with experienced Speech Pathologists to support individuals with Developmental Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement fun and effective speech therapy sessions under supervision
  2. Support Clinical in administering communication strategies
  3. Implement feeding management plans
  4. Support children to use AAC devices in everyday situations
  5. Implement evidence-based literacy programs under supervision
  6. Participate in professional development in evidence-based curriculums
  7. Prepare and create therapy resources

We're Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has a Certificate 4 Allied Health Assistant - Speech Pathology or is willing to complete certification within 12 months
  • Is a Speech therapy student in their 4th year or in second year of Masters
  • Is a current Practicing Member of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Has at least 1 year's experience working with children/disability or other health-related experience
  • Is enthusiastic about working with children with additional needs and has experience in AAC, feeding, Developmental Disabilities, and/or literacy

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time, Part-time, Casual positions available
