Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Blackbook Recruitment. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering robust and high-quality mechanical solutions that meet all applicable business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop instrument mechanical architecture and ensure quality of group mechanical deliverables
  • Lead mechanical team to deliver quality outcomes to schedule and budget
  • Establish, implement and manage build activities within Invetech staged development programs
  • Provide support in response to requests for assistance in matters relating to mechanical engineering product issues

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 6 years relevant experience in product development including complex electro-mechanical devices
  • Extensive experience across the product development lifecycle
  • Experience developing medical products highly regarded
  • Demonstrated design expertise in at least one of the following disciplines: robotics, fluidics, optics, mechanisms, plastic moulding, structures, thermal control
  • Competency in CAD (Solidworks)
  • Experience with a variety of manufacturing methods and working with suppliers
  • Experience generating technical documents including design descriptions, test plans and reports
  • Proven ability to lead, train, mentor and coach others
  • Positive, self-motivated disposition
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
