About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Advisor Sustainable Finance Specialist to join our team at Beilby Downing Teal. As a key member of our ESG and Investor Relations business unit, you will play a critical role in leading the provision of quality advice, research, and information on the Western Australian government and economy to support investors' informed understanding of environmental, social, and governance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze domestic and global ESG trends, considering potential implications for our product and service offerings.
  • Engage with investors to understand their sustainability priorities and incorporate their feedback into our Sustainable Finance Program, priorities, and initiatives.
  • Meet obligations of the WATC Sustainability Bond Framework and coordinate across Western Australian government agencies.
  • Plan for new Green, Social, or Sustainability bond issuances as part of our broader funding strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of new sustainable finance product or service delivery initiatives relevant to our role in servicing our client base.
  • Determine evolving requirements for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) related disclosures and financial products.
  • Develop targeted and general investor updates and reports as part of our Investor Engagement Strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with existing and emerging regulations related to sustainability and sustainable finance.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with research staff at our clients, Fixed Income Distribution Group banks, other semi-government issuers, other government organizations, and academia.
  • Supervise the development and activities of junior staff in delivering our Business Unit's core objectives and WATC strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience working in financial markets or a related discipline with significant exposure to sustainability or ESG trends that impact this sector.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Experience in ensuring high-quality production of external communications materials and Management and Board papers.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to share information in a simple and effective manner for stakeholders with different degrees of sophistication.
  • Willingness to learn, to be open to others' opinions, and to engage in constructive debate.
  • Integrity, including upholding strong professional and ethical standards and discretion in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Forward-thinking, continuous learning, and high performance.
