Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Youth Consultant.

As a Youth Consultant, you will play a vital role in empowering young people to achieve their goals of gaining further skills and sustainable employment.

You will manage and mentor your own caseload of jobseekers aged between 15 and 24 years, assisting them to overcome personal barriers and transition into meaningful employment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a caseload of jobseekers to achieve successful employment outcomes
  • Assist clients in overcoming personal barriers and developing the necessary skills to access employment
  • Source job opportunities for clients within the local community, fostering strong relationships with employers and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Log details, notes, and create progress reports on each client, ensuring accurate tracking and evaluation of program effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a target-driven environment, with a proven track record of achieving set objectives
  • Ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process, providing guidance and support to ensure successful employment outcomes
  • Qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity, and compassion, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of clients
  • Results-focused approach with ability to work to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets, driving program success and continuous improvement
  • Excellent time management and organisational ability, with a capacity to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the employment services sector, with a strong understanding of industry best practices and trends
  • Understanding of the significant barriers facing people living with a disability and the long-term unemployed, with a commitment to delivering inclusive and equitable services
