Role Overview

As the General Manager of Operations, you will be at the forefront of driving a culture of professionalism and respect, underpinned by collaboration and continuous improvement. You will act as a brand ambassador in all stakeholder interactions, contributing to the recruitment and onboarding process, and coaching team members to enhance business performance across the board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit professional and respectful behaviours at all times, serving as a role model.
  • Drive a culture built on collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Coach and mentor team members and peers.
  • Proactively address performance and behavioural issues.
  • Manage seasonal labour resources effectively, including staff leave, performance appraisals, and ensuring sufficient staffing for operational needs.
  • Liaise with the Business Manager to foster an engaged team and minimise turnover through various initiatives.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • A current Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
  • A Senior First Aid Certificate and Chemical Users' Certificate (preferred).
  • Extensive agriculture/horticulture knowledge, preferably with tree nuts.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a proven track record in developing high-performing teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of orchard operations, machinery, and detailed agronomic knowledge.
  • Passion for a long-term career in agriculture/horticulture.
