Procurement Leadership Role

This strategic Procurement Manager position plays a crucial role in driving cost-effective procurement and high-quality goods and services for our organization.

The successful candidate will lead, own, and manage the provision of procurement services, including planning, development, sourcing, contracts, and risk management. This role will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and develop strategies to support business needs.

  1. Develop and implement a centralized group approach to supplier management for direct spend.
  2. Leverage purchasing power to enhance pricing and rebate outcomes.
  3. Create and implement strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement and high-quality goods and services.
  4. Evaluate and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  5. Manage the entire procurement process from purchase requests to final receipt and approval of goods.
  6. Manage the purchasing budget and ensure procurement activities stay within financial constraints.
  7. Analyze market trends to forecast demand and mitigate risks.
  8. Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  9. Work closely with internal departments to forecast needs and specifications.
  10. Monitor and report on key performance metrics to improve procurement efficiency.
  11. Ensure third-party supplier compliance with all policies, laws, and obligations contained within contracts and the Supplier Governance Framework.
  12. Deliver Tender/RFP documents as required.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager who possesses:

  • At least 10 years' experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain in a managerial capacity.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in 'reading' the market.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and making informed decisions.
  • Ability to write and manage RFPs.
  • Proven ability to create, promote, and manage a Supplier Governance Framework.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and organizational needs.
