This position is ideal for a mid-senior Process Engineer with a solid technical foundation in Chemical/Process Engineering. As a Lead Process Engineering Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering expertise and overseeing process design through various engineering phases from concept selection to detailed design and execution.
  • Engaging proactively with Project Managers and Team Members to ensure projects are completed within defined scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Managing and tracking single-discipline projects effectively.
  • Composing technical reports as necessary.
  • Preparing proposals and tenders, including hours estimation and scope definition for new and ongoing projects.
  • Providing quality assurance to other lead engineers.
  • Offering technical mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Identifying new clients and leveraging existing relationships to promote the Process Engineering services and drive opportunities.

  • A degree in Process Engineering (or equivalent) with over 6 years of process design experience in the Oil & Gas and/or Future Fuels sectors.
  • CPEng or CEng/RPEQ registration.
  • Proficiency in using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and DNV PHAST software.
  • A solid understanding of process safety, including risk identification and assessment through HAZID/HAZOP, dispersion/radiation analysis, and hazardous area classification.
  • Experience in preparing P&IDs, PFDs, heat and material balances, instrument and equipment data sheets, utilities flow diagrams, and chemical consumption/effluent summaries.
  • Ability and experience in providing technical support throughout the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept selection studies to FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
  • A hands-on approach, flexibility, and the capability to work independently on multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to drive project and client success.
  • Skills in managing conflicting deadlines through effective prioritization.
  • HAZOP / LOPA Facilitator experience and accreditation is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian and International Standards.
  • A blend of consulting and operational experience would be advantageous.
