About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Services Technician to join our team at Hamilton Island. As a key member of our Engineering and Services division, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of our electrical distribution network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing maintenance and repairs on high voltage and low voltage electrical networks
  • Testing and repairing airport runway lighting
  • Auditing new installations
  • Prioritizing urgent repairs for guest safety and satisfaction
  • Participating in an on-call roster to address out-of-hours breakdowns
  • Maintaining hazardous area equipment, including fuel systems
  • Reading and testing electrical usage meters

About You

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Services Technician with a strong background in electrical distribution networks, SCADA and PLC systems. Essential qualifications include:

  • Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trades Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years' full-time trade experience
  • High voltage switching and coordination experience and/or qualifications/accreditation
  • QLD open/unrestricted driver's license
  • Ability to be approved for and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

Desirable qualifications include experience with electrical instrumentation systems, high voltage polymeric cable jointing, diesel powered generators, and Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) qualifications/accreditation.
