Job Overview:

The role of a Family Support Specialist will involve providing high-quality support to vulnerable families, students, and staff at the school. As part of a collaborative team, they will work together to ensure uniformity of action and purpose across the school in matters relating to student welfare and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management and support for families.
  • Liaise between the school and community agencies.
  • Support whole-school initiatives such as Breakfast Club, State Schools Relief, student Uniform Programs, lunch time co-curricular activities, etc.
  • Contribute to the school's existing Welfare, Inclusion and Wellbeing team.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in social work and/or counselling or equivalent.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated capacity and experience to provide counselling to students and parents individually and in group settings.

Working Conditions:

This is a fixed-term, part-time position with 3 days per week.
