Strategic Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:
Prominent companies like Talent Focus rely on skilled professionals to optimize their procurement processes. As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability of products, managing inventory and procurement operations, and upholding customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Optimization: Analyzing demand patterns, sales forecasts, and historical data enables the identification of ideal stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock levels, preventing stockouts while minimizing surplus inventory.
- Purchasing Management: The Purchasing Officer is responsible for executing the procurement process comprehensively, from initiation to completion, including identifying purchasing requirements, fostering relationships with suppliers, soliciting price quotations, negotiating contracts or agreements, and confirming purchase orders.
- Supplier Management: This involves identifying dependable and cost-effective suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and pricing, and fostering robust communication channels. Consistent assessment of supplier performance and exploration of avenues for enhancement are crucial.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, or supplier reliability issues and devising strategies to mitigate them is essential.
- Compliance and Ethical Standards: Adhering to Company policies and procedures, conducting thorough due diligence on suppliers, and advocating for ethical practices in procurement activities is vital for upholding the organization's reputation.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing procurement data, and identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains enhance procurement effectiveness and minimize cycle times.
- Effective Master Data Maintenance: Maintaining accurate, reliable, and high-quality data within the set ERP System, including daily upkeep for purchasing-related activities, ensures seamless operational execution.
- Providing backup support to other members of the supply chain team and scheduling international phone calls and meetings as needed are additional responsibilities.
Relationships and Authority:
- Reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Maintains excellent working relationships with suppliers and internal customers through continuous updates.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possesses an appropriate trade or commercial background related to supply chain and logistics, with a focus on purchasing, freight, and inventory management.
- Requires a minimum of four years' experience in purchasing activities.
- Requires intermediate knowledge of Microsoft tools with medium Excel abilities.
- Experience with Navision/SAP would be advantageous.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
