Job Role

We are seeking a Specialised Carer to join our team. As a Specialised Carer, you will provide tailored care including personal support within a residential home.

The role requires you to help create a home away from home for residents with dementia. You will assist with daily tasks such as showering, grooming and toileting, as well as providing life engagement and supporting residents with levels of dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing and using the toilet
  • Provide life engagement activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation
  • Support residents with cognitive impairments and physical disabilities
  • Recognise and respond to changes in residents' conditions within your skills and competencies

All new staff will complete an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses and Managers on site.

To Be Successful In This Role
  • Have a genuine passion for serving elderly people and want to make a difference in their lives
  • Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights and weekends
  • Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative
  • Have knowledge and experience of working with people living with dementia and their needs
  • Applicants with Cert III or IV in Aged Care would be viewed favourably
