Senior Commercial Lead

We are currently in search of a seasoned Senior Commercial Lead with a strong background in managing substantial projects, specifically those valued at $100M and above. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing large-scale initiatives in Adelaide, guiding them from the tender phase through to successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout our projects and tenders, ensuring timely resolution of any issues that arise. Support the management of contractual and commercial disputes, coordinating with the Business Unit's legal counsel and liaising with insurance representatives as necessary. Engage in commercial resolutions with clients, contractors, or consultants as required. Develop and prepare internal management reports and updates on dispute statuses. Review and assess tender submissions for potential adverse terms and conditions, conducting thorough internal evaluations and engaging in front-end negotiations with prospective clients to secure favorable contractual outcomes. Aid in the formulation of subcontractor and consultant contracts, ensuring that appropriate forms and commercial terms are effectively integrated. Assist in the drafting and development of joint venture agreements, pre-bid contracts, and MOUs as needed. Provide guidance and insights to project teams on contractual and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with contract documents, relevant legislation, and Australian Standards. About You
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualifications. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity within large infrastructure projects. Exceptional communication skills, with a strong focus on results and a keen commercial acumen. Well-honed organizational and coordination abilities, demonstrating the capacity to prioritize and manage tasks effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to consult and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, from clients to colleagues. Proven track record in determining the most effective strategies to achieve measurable improvements within the business. Experience in identifying commercial risks across various projects and sectors within civil infrastructure, along with demonstrated rectification strategies. Prior experience as a Commercial or Contracts Manager for a primary contractor. About Us
