About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Services Security Officer to join our team at Piper Preston Pty Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our personnel, assets, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of first response to all site emergency situations
  • Perform or oversee rescues in all operational environments
  • Facilitate and deliver training for on-site emergency drills to all personnel and the Emergency Response Team
  • Coordinate third party testing, servicing, and calibration of medical equipment
  • Maintain the Fire Truck, Rescue Trailer, and all rescue equipment to high standards of operational readiness
  • Undertake periodic testing, servicing, and calibration of emergency response equipment including maintaining records of servicing and checks undertaken
  • Patrol the premises to maintain order and establish a visible security presence
  • Identify any disruptions or unlawful acts in the Lakeway Operations, including Village, Plant and Operational areas; report any findings to appropriate site persons and regulators
  • Investigate suspicious activity and report to appropriate site persons and regulators
  • Respond to alarms and alerts and assess the situation, report findings to appropriate site personnel
  • Assist site Paramedic with patient care when required
  • Provide Advanced First Aid care as required
  • Actively promote safety and demonstrate a personal commitment to safety
  • Actively participate in pre-start, safety toolbox meetings and leadership field interactions, including ensuring the accurate and timely completion of Take-5's and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Ensure the timely identification, reporting and escalation of incidents, hazards, and non-compliance to your supervisor in a timely manner, and before end of shift
About You

We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the mining and resources industry and demonstrated experience in an emergency response position in a remote environment. Your ability to communicate with a confident and compelling message to a wide range of stakeholders will help you succeed in this role.

An intermediate understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 is a must, as well as your sound comprehension of local, state and federal emergency management regulations and requirements.

Requirements
  • Certificate III Mines Emergency Response & Rescue, including Vertical Rope Rescue, Road Crash Rescue and Confined Space Rescue qualifications and Hazard Material Management qualifications (essential)
  • Advanced First Aid (essential) (qualification to be kept updated every 3 years unless you have a higher qualification in first aid)
  • Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing (desirable)
  • Construction White Card (essential)
  • Certificate II Security and associated security licence (essential)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Office 365 applications
  • Experience using Pronto on an intermediate level
  • Working knowledge using Aconex
  • Intermediate user of INX In Control and Intuition
