Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer with a specialization in machine learning to drive the technical excellence of our open-source and cloud-based search solutions. This individual will possess a deep understanding of systems design, computer science fundamentals, cloud computing, and the application of machine learning within software engineering frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement software engineering solutions to complex problems, such as designing and developing large-scale distributed applications.
  • Develop high-performance search and machine learning systems, collaborating with customers and users, and providing strategic technical direction to the engineering team.
  • Own solutions from design to production and act as a technical leader and mentor within the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience as a software developer, with a significant focus on machine learning applications.
  • Expertise in developing cloud-based machine learning solutions and deploying scalable ML models.
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed data systems, cloud technologies, and the integration of machine learning models within these environments.
  • Demonstrated ability in designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining high-performance machine learning applications in production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in commercial/large-scale system software development and delivery, with a strong emphasis on machine learning, data analytics, and AI-driven technologies.
  • Extensive experience in building information retrieval, search, recommendation, natural language processing, database, and distributed systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to decompose and formalize complex problems.
  • Strong leadership skills and a track record of mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
