About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join our kitchen team at The Rose Hotel & Motel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Operations
    • Ensure the consistency of all menu items, regardless of time of day or period of service.
    • Contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of our kitchen, working closely with our chefs and kitchen team.
    • Liaise with the kitchen team to ensure smooth delivery of food to our guests.
    • Operate kitchen equipment to achieve required results for à la carte and function service.
    • Work with our chefs to advance and improve current food operations.
    • Have a thorough understanding of stock control and work with the kitchen team to minimize wastage.
  • Venue Security & Compliance
    • Understand and adhere to our venue's access and security protocols for food stock.
    • Maintain alarm codes, venue keys, and other access requests.
  • Safety
    • Comply with our food safety policy and procedures (HACCP).
    • Conduct regular safety meetings with heads of departments present, providing a forum for risks and hazards to be addressed and documented.
    • Follow kitchen systems, policies, and procedures on shift.
  • Personal Presentation
    • Presentation of oneself in accordance with our venue's dress standards.
    • Respond to requests to perform other tasks that contribute to the overall success of our venue's operations.
    • Maintain service standards, particularly during peak periods.
    • Maintain a 'Can-do' attitude in the face of adversity.
  • Performance Review
    • Regular performance reviews will be part of your commitment to the position, including scheduled and unscheduled check-ins.
    Requirements
    • Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience, however all applicants with relevant experience will be considered.
    • Additional experience is required where the applicant does not have a relevant formal qualification.
    • All relevant experience will be considered for the Cook role.
    • A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude.
    • The ability to excel under pressure in a high-volume environment with excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship skills.
    • Attention to detail with a focus on consistency.
    • We ask that you are open and honest in all dealings to the advantage of both you and the business.
    Salary

The annual salary range is from $63,000 to $76,000, commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience.
